This small restaurant serves my favorite wood-fire pizza in Seattle as well as a great list of wine options. We came on a Sunday evening and were seated after about a 30 minute wait but I've seen very crowded on other nights so I usually try to do carry-out or arrive right when they open.
We tried the meatball appetizer at the waitress's recommendation and they were so moist and delicious! The pizza was crisp with a nice smokiness from the wood-fire oven and the toppings were abundant. You really can't go wrong ordering any of the pizzas.
Street parking only in this area but you can usually find a spot within a couple blocks.
OMG.
I've been exploring wood fires pizza around Seattle the last year, this is my favorite so far (I've maybe tried 10+ other places)
Appetizer - Burrata - Amazing. I'll order it every time.
Pepperoni - Jesus. I always order pepperoni as a baseline comparison. My favorite in town so far. Great amount of pepperoni, perfect flavor balance between the cheese, sauce and onis. Crust is addictive and fresh.
White Pie - wow. Both my friend and I said it was the best white pie we've ever had in all of King county. So. I suggest trying it.
Service - fast and friendly despite being busy.
Atmos - casual and small. They book up fast from opening and walk in only with long waits. So I'd suggest arriving early unless you want 30-60 minutes wait.
Will definitely be back.
Delancey was on my list for quite a while when I read about them being semi finalists for James Beard awards. We got a table at the counter first and later moved to a table. The hospitality was top notch and our servers were highly informative and cheerful. We got a seasonal strawberry shrub and a pilsner. The shrub was terrific and full with summer vibes. We then ordered the day’s specials in prawns and bacon and onion pizza with seasonal toppings coppa and mountain garlic. We also got a salad. The prawns were delicious and cooked amazingly well even with the shells present. The pizza sauce was tasty and the seasonal toppings made it better. The cheese grated on the salad was phenomenal. 10/10
Certainly one of the best spots in Seattle for true Neapolitan style pizza. The restaurant itself has great service & ambience. Be prepared to wait for a table, but you pop on over to Essex right next door for a cocktail while you wait (also amazing cocktails). They’ll let you close out at Essex & bring your unfinished drink over to Delancey if your table is ready early. And while the pizza is amazing…the side dishes definitely try to steal the show, so don’t skip them.
Best quality pizza I’ve found in Seattle so far, but service is severely lacking. The waiter seemed annoyed with any question we had clarifying on the menu and seemed outraged when we asked if build-your-own pie was an option. Our table was nestled in between two others which had very attentive service, but we were ignored for 20 minutes and had to flag down our waiter to get our check. Not sure if the treatment was due to the mandatory 20% service fee or because we were the only POC in the establishment.
This place is mentioned in Forkish's book so I had to visit. I consider myself fairly knowledgeable when it comes to Neopolitan pizza-making, having worked in the industry and now making my own pizzas at home in an outdoor oven. First pizza was a disappointment. I'm no stranger to leoparding and char but this dough was clearly overdone. I was told by the manager that this was a normal pizza for Delancey and that next time I should specify "light char" before ordering. They were nice about it though and made us a "light char" margherita pizza which was quite good.
Come for the pizza, but stay for the apps. I personally enjoy Burrata SO much, but this pesto that came alongside was amazing - we dipped everything in it. This was one of the better PNW pizzas my partner and I have had, but for the price point a little uninspired. We got the Brooklyn and it was closer to a NYC slice, but still like a 7.5/10 for pizza, globally speaking, a Seattle 9/10. I know with inflation everything’s a lot right now, but burrata, meatballs, 2 beverages (one
Alcoholic) and a pizza totaling to $100 feels a bit much to me. However, service was very attentive and I plan to go back and get the very impressive looking mound of salad.
Wooohooo pizza is really good here! We sat at the bar and watched the oven fire and the pizza-making process. It was a quite nice experience! The staff team is very friendly and organized. Weekend dinner time can get a bit busy.
I recommend ordering the olives - it’s a mix of 3 types and each tasted delicious.
